
Currently the Medicare system provides healthcare insurance to seniors 65 and older. Sometimes additional coverage is warranted. Seniors have the option to buy insurance coverage that supplements their Medicare.
Consider planning for your extended healthcare years before you reach 65. There are plans in the federal budget to downsize Medicare for folks currently under 55 years old. I, of course, don't know how that will play out.
