Small Business Coverage

Small business owners have options when providing health insurance for their employees. We can help you understand your options and find the policy that works best for you and your employees. Let us come in and help you manage your healthcare needs and help you understand how your business will be impacted by healthcare reform.
Group Insurance Coverage for Your W2 Employees
Employer selects and pays for the health insurance premiums for his/her W2 employees. The employer pays a minimum 75% of the entire premium for the group and can write off 100% of their contribution. Employees pay no more than 25% of their premium expense.
Individual Insurance for 1099 Employees
When an employer doesn’t provide group health insurance to employees, each person selects and purchases their own health insurance. Employers may or may not contribute to the plan. Because it is not a group plan the employer generally cannot write off the expense of contributions.
Upside: Individual insurance is much less expensive than group insurance, and often provides more personal coverage because each person selects their own plan.
